Firefly was launched on April 3, 2007, and is run by FlyFirefly Sdn. Bhd – is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysian Airline System Berhad. Firefly offers connections to various points within Malaysia, Southern Thailand, Singapore, and Sumatera, Indonesia, from Penang International Airport and Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, aligning itself with the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) agenda. Firefly is also expanding its scope to include Sabah and Sarawak, as well as bridging the gap between the northern peninsular states and the southern states of Johor and Kuala Lumpur, all via our Penang hub.

Refreshments are given at no cost
On a Firefly flight, you can enjoy complimentary refreshments provided by our attentive cabin crew. Additional snacks are available for purchase on flights longer than 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Boarding is quick and easy
Firefly is the best option for time-sensitive travellers because it helps you to check-in 30 minutes before flight departure time and walk to the boarding gate in less than five minutes.
Allowance for Baggage
Passengers receive a complimentary checked-baggage allowance of 20kg at no extra cost. If necessary, additional checked-baggage categories of 5kg, 10kg, and 15kg can be purchased online, by phone, or at sales offices.
City Airport is a convenient location
When you ride with Firefly, you’ll land at Kuala Lumpur’s city airport. When travelling to KLIA, avoid the extra cost and unpredictability. Firefly takes off from the Skypark Terminal at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (SAAS) Airport in Subang, just minutes from Kuala Lumpur’s central business district.
Check-in via the internet
With web check-in option, you can save time and avoid long lines. This function is currently only available for flights inside Malaysia and to and from Singapore. This service will soon be available for flights from Indonesia and Thailand.
Firefly Air Cargo
Firefly Air Freight is an on-demand cargo service that transports cargo from one airport to another. Firefly Air Cargo provides an express service that allows you to deliver goods (gifts, documents, e-commerce orders, social commerce merchant products, and even packed food) to loved ones, relatives, or customers the same day. The products will be shipped to the mentioned airports as part of air freight.
