AirAsia X Resumes Direct Flights to Changsha, China From RM388
|AirAsia X (AAX) announced the exciting return of direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Changsha, China. This move strengthens their presence in the Chinese market, following their recent launch of flights to Xi’an.
Starting July 5th, 2024, travellers can fly directly to Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, with four flights offered weekly. Changsha boasts a rich history and cultural significance, including the world-famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, Wu Ling Yuan (Zhangjiajie), where the movie Avatar was filmed.

Travel period: 5 July – 26 Oct 2024
This resumption of service is expected to be popular due to Changsha’s numerous accolades, including “China Top Tourist City”, “World Capital of Media Arts”, and “Culture City of East Asia”.
AirAsia X CEO, Benyamin Ismail, highlighted China’s importance as a key market and their commitment to expanding their network. He mentioned their position as the largest low-cost foreign carrier in China, previously carrying over 140,000 passengers to and from Changsha in 2019.
Ismail also expressed their dedication to making travel affordable, which aligns with the AirAsia Group’s goal of being the largest foreign best value carrier by capacity.
To celebrate this milestone, AAX is offering promotional fares starting from RM388 (all-in one way) to Changsha. This deal is valid for bookings made between now and April 21st, 2024 for travel dates between July 5th and October 26th, 2024. An additional benefit for Malaysian travellers is the visa-free entry to China for tourist visits up to 15 days, valid until November 30th, 2024.
