MYAirline Apologises for Technical Error During its First-day Sale
|MYAirline, a new Malaysian low-cost carrier, had a difficult start, as potential passengers were unable to book flights on its first day on sale. The CEO of MYAirline, Rayner Teo, has apologised for the issue with its new booking engine, which was caused by unforeseen technical issues and heavy traffic. The airline has been able to restore its booking engine as of this writing, but they are only accepting flight reservations for the first two months of operation.
As announced on their Facebook page, consumers can now book flights with MYAirline for travel between December 2022 and January 2023. Next Tuesday, November 29, 2022, reservations for travel between February and March 2023 will be available. MYAirline is offering a RM10 voucher for your future booking as a gesture of goodwill.
To summarise, MYAirline will launch commercial passenger service on only three routes on December 1: Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu. Two daily return flights will operate between Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu and Langkawi, while one daily return flight will operate between Kuala Lumpur and Kuching. Through the month of December, the airline will steadily increase flight frequency. Based on the destination and arrivals schedule, it appears like MYAirline is planning to serve Kota Bharu, Penang, Tawau, and Sibu very soon.
If you want to choose your seat, MYAirline will charge you between RM10 and RM48; alternatively, you can let them allocate your seat automatically upon check-in. MYAirline takes credit/debit cards, online banking, and Grab and Zapp eWallet for payment.
